In my youth and childhood, I am almost 30, I was an altar boy for a long time. Now I have a parish by my work place where I go to Daily Mass. I have started proclaiming the readings and serve occasionally though in my business clothes not in my old cassock and surplice. Anyone been altar server in youth, stopped for a while then returned in adulthood?
 
I was an altar server in my youth and I still serve from time to time on the rare occasion. I have served both the traditional Latin Mass and the Novus Ordo. I still have my adult cassock and surplice.
 
Yes. After I retired I used to serve every weekday morning at my formal parish. It was great. I used to serve the Latin mass as a boy. The job of the alter server is to be an example of reverence for the congratulation!
