My friend is asking for a prayer about her continuous severe anxiety over her heart problem, atrial fibrilation. Her age is 80 and she has had an ablation one month ago. Her arhythmias have stopped, so it seems the ablation was successful, but her anxiety continues now for 11 months. She was expecting the ablation to calm her anxiety. She stopped driving and dosen’t feel well enough to attend church. She is also fearful of becomming addicted to Ativan/Valium a very low dose, which was prescribed to her for anxiety. She wants a prayer for anxiety instead of Ativan/Valium.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

May I suggest she pray the Rosary? It has a wonderful, calming effect on the faithful.

My grandmother, God rest her soul, was sick with heart trouble my whole life. She was bedridden many times for months at a time. But, she would pray the Rosary several times a day, and I’m not sure she ever had anxiety problems over her condition.

I’ll include your friend in my next Rosary. 🙂

God bless! 🙂

Grant the peace of God which passes all understanding to Momyoy’s friend who is suffering on-going severe anxiety about her health, grant inspire her to go back to regular Mass. In Christ’s name. Amen.

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

May your friend be abandoned to God’s Merciful Love full of confidence in His Merciful Love. May this free her from all of her anxiety. Amen.
