So I searched the forums to find answer to a question, I found answers to all other questions out side the exact answer of my question with was many of reply’s on multiple threads, and thank you for reply and Please don’t flame me too badly.

So My husband and I have been married catholic for almost a year now. We have 5 kids and try are hardest to practice our faith the right way, So this is kinda embarrassing, and I don’t know what to say without sound too bad but here it goes …

Is it a sin to rub my husbands penis to make it hard so he can perform sex act and just for the intent to make the sex act possible? i.e. his medication make it hard for him to be hard

also, is it sinful for us to rub each-other genitals with our hands mutually before intercourse as means of foreplay?

finally if my husband finishes before me ( :hammering: ) and goes limp can he finish me by hand? :imsorry:

Thanks Crystal 🙂

None of what you describe is sinful. Your first two examples are foreplay and not only are they not sinful, but a solid (pun intended :D) idea.

Please don’t worry about this at all! Nothing you describe here is sinful. I’m glad you found the courage to ask the question! 🙂

That’s all fine…assuming of course you’re not having any fun and only doing it to make more babies. 😉

In this particular case, I probably wouldn’t consider it wise to employ sarcasm without making it unquestionably clear that it **is **sarcasm.

Just in this case. lol 😃

According to the Catechism, you are allowed to have fun during it on the third Wednesday of every other month in years that end with 3. You all will have to wait until 2023.

Sarcasm over.

All of the things you describe are quite okay :). In fact, as long as he finishes inside you, he can finish you off in any way you’d like (manual, oral, even marital aids ;)), as long as it preserves both of your dignities. Don’t worry so much about sex! The only things that matter are that you’re married, you don’t use contraception, your dignities are preserved, and he finishes inside of you. Outside of that, enjoy each other in a marital act given to you by God :).

No, it is not wrong.

thank you for the reply’s. So that is kinda what i was feeling anyway. I was looking through the catechism and it was saying some things were “evil” and sinful but the descriptions were so vague on what it was referring to that it left me so unsure. I know mother church likes to make certain we are not abusing our bodies in sex for our own good, I get that, however i know the church can say one thing is sinful in one case and the same thing is permitted in another case based on extreme circumstances…etc So I was wondering where in the teaching magisteriam does it explicitly say these are OK in my case?

:bible1:

Thanks in advance,
Crystal

This is one area that the magisterium does not go down into the finer detail on. The magesterium simply can’t delve into the minutae of every element of Christain life, and leaves much open to good sense and the interpretation of theologians.

In this case, no respectable theologian I know of holds the position that spouses can’t engage in foreplay such as rubbing each other. Some (not many) will argue that other forms of foreplay are not allowed (eg oral stimulation), but they seem to be in the minority and the arguments are certainly not authoritative (in my opinion). If you wish to go further with this, you’ll open a can of worms. Perhaps start by doing a search here on “foreplay” and you’ll find plenty of threads that discuss these things, including references to books you may like to read.

Just remember that sex needs to be unitive and open to procreation. And ask yourself how these acts of foreplay contravene these principles (spoiler alert - they don’t 😉 ).

Thank you and I will definately search “foreplay” and try to get some more info there. I just want to be sure I am doing everything right, ya know? Sex is very important to both my husband and I. We just don’t want to be doing anything “evil”., and were uncertain what the laws were.

I’m wary of the spirit behind this suggestion. Chemaeslay, there are many threads here that promote oral and anal penetration as foreplay, but there are many of us also who deem these to be simulations of sinful sexual acts that lead to temptation and degradation of the natural beauty and purity of sex.

As for what you asked about here, there is nothing at all wrong with building your communion in this way.

I don’t appreciate what you seem to be implying here. Feel free to disagree with my position, but please remain charitable by not presuming that I have some sort of sinister motives.

And many of us who vehemently disagree with this position. But it’s all been said before, in many threads, which is why I suggested a search, rather than rehashing everything here again, and again, and…
