šŸ™‚ Good that title got your attention:confused: Do you as a Catholic belive that useing stem cells for scientific purposes is right? What are your opions on this issue?

Adult stem cells are fine to use and actually have gotten fairly good results. Embryonic stem cells are not okay and not once have they helped someone. Even if people say ā€œWell we are just using the ones that already existā€¦ā€ it is wrong b/c what they donā€™t tell you is that they actually may clone those cells to create another fertilized egg (baby).

This is a good link ncbcenter.org/index.asp

Peace to you,

stem cellsā€¦ are fineā€¦ but not embryonicā€¦ only adult or cord bloodā€¦ I have an entire paperā€¦ I wrote on it!

Stem cells are a wonderful advance in science that have had remarkable success in curing hundreds of ailments from diabetes and leukemia to repairing hearts after a heart attack. Problem is, these successes have **only ** been seen with the use of stem cells obtained by *ethical means * such as from umbilical cords, bone marrow and even from something (I canā€™t remember the exact term right now) from the nasal passages of an adult. These last cells are believed to be just as pliable as embryonic stem cells, and they are having great results with them! Unfortunately, you will not hear these things from the mainstream media outlets. They are falsely leading the public to believe that only embryonic stem cells are promising. In fact, the opposite is true. The reality is that every time they have attempted to use embryonic stem cells for anything, it doesnā€™t work. The only thing they have been able to do with them so far is grow tumors. Real promising, right?
Now if we could get the culture of death to be honest, and get those billions of dollars they want to spend on creating and destroying life, redirected to the type of research that actually works, just think how many people could be helped right now! Weā€™re not talking some ā€œwhat-ifā€ twenty or thirty years down the road. Weā€™re talking about concrete results with unlimited potential right here and now.

The other day my husband reluctantly admitted to me that his brother would be having surgery to repair his eye. He had not been wanting to tell me because the surgery would be using stem cells and he was afraid I would go balistic.

Imagine his surprise when I told him that since they would be using adult or umbilical stem cells that it was a non issue for me.

I had to explain to him that if they were using the stem cells in a proven surgical procedure, then it was not embrionic stem cells, since their use was still experimental and unproven.

I wish people would understand that so much good is already being done with adult and umbilical stem cells, why do we even have to spend the billions of dollars to try to develop a different technology, never even mind the ethical implications.
