Well before the Holy See allowed female altar servers, dissenting parishes used them anyway in defiance of the Church. Some suggest that this defiance helped Rome to change its stance on allowing female altar servers.

No we see females having their feet washed at the Holy Thursday Mass – despite what the Sacramentary says. Is this going to be another area where the Holy See caves in to the demands of female sexism?

This seems so strange – the tail wagging the dog. I laugh out loud at the thought of men having their feet washed if history clearly showed that Jesus Christ washed the feet of 12 female disciples.

Is this sexism that gains license from the laws of political correctness ever going to stop?

I think the Holy See has decided that discretion is the better part of valor. Or, they are going to prudently decide which battles they really want to fight.

I guess washing the feet of dames on Holy Thursday isn’t a battle they’ve cared to join. Which means it’s up to us sheeple to try to shepherd our Shepherds, generally a hopeless task.

What we need is some lay border collies. Woof. :bounce:
