Sexless Marriage?

I concur that this is a multi-level, complex marital situation with problems that go back many years.

I am wondering why the spiritual counsel with your priest has not included the fact that you are not validly married in the Church. Nor are you in a position to convalidate given your marriage troubles.

Have you brought this to your priest as part of the discussion? (rhetorical question)
If they are not validly married, they shouldn’t be having sex in the first place! 🤷

There may be a civil union, but it is not recognized by God.

They should separate and if need be get a civil divorce. They are not united in God so it is as simple as that.

I don’t see why this is unclear here?

Yelling at me for no good reason!
Can Alpha Woman answer my question please?
Thank you. Rau you’re welcome to as well.
MainBrain, I suggest you take a few days and let the comments in the thread percolate.

I would also recommend counselling with a priest and/or mental health professional. This is obviously a major issue in your life that needs addressing by professionals IRL.

alphawoman instead of suggesting to me to see a mental health professional or Priest why don’t you answer my question concerning 1 Cor 7?
You’re amazing. Wow! Perhaps you are the one in need of mental health therapy.

I think I remember, though I could be wrong, that there’s a child involved. If so, it certainly doesn’t make separation simple.

This is incredibly childish. People are trying to help you.

Frankly, posts like this make me wonder if you aren’t having fun pulling our legs…

Sure… Of course.
I hope they will delete these posts if I ask.

Ok, yeah it does complicate it a bit. But they still should NOT be having sex. If they want marriage to work for the sake of the child, they need a convalidation and are required to live as brother and sister (so no sex). If they feel they aren’t compatable, then single parenting from separate homes is the solution. No sex either way unless convalidation occurs.

So again, either way the OP shouldn’t be having sex anyways. 🤷

They don’t.

Are you being sarcastic, cause you haven’t followed a single bit of advice given on these threads. Are you just venting to vent?

No disagreement from me (although in their shoes, I might not pursue convalidation but just continue to live as brother and sister, because there are some serious issues in the marriage. If they could be overcome, sure, but at present…I would not go for it.)

There’s a lot that the OP can do to remedy his situation. To CAF’s knowledge, none of it has been done or attempted. There’s only so much good-faith advice-offering we can do here. 🤷
