As one of the “Leave it to Beaver” and “Father Knows Best” generation I am aware of changes in tone in society.
Several of the posters have specified 1968 as a turning point. I was a Junior at Michigan State, going into my final year. I was 21. I got Married. I ended up going on to a Master’s. Culturally there was some shift at the time. Opposition to Viet Nam came to a head.
Was there more morality, or simply more conformity?
When Heavy Metal became the standard for Rock Music, I switched to Classical and stuck with Folk.
Hypocrisy was common, abuse under reported, etc.
I am very happy to have survived to today and enjoying life and the faith.
