Tonight, February 22nd, at 9:00 p.m. PST, and again at 11:00 a.m. this Sunday, our Fr. Kevin Kennedy will be on the SF Archbishop’s Hour on Immaculate Heart Radio Station, 1260 am, speaking about Our Lady of Fatima Russian Catholic Parish, and about the Eastern Catholic Churches.

Click on "Listen Live at those times on the radio archives. The program should be archived there on Friday, March 1st after the March 1st program airs. Scroll down to “San Francisco Archbishop’s Hour” then to hear it.

Just saw this thread now (an hour late), and I’ll be in Mass at 11AM on Sunday.

I was told by a fellow parishioner that Our Lady of Fatima was a defunct church! I’ve always wanted to visit an Eastern Catholic liturgy.

I heard the end of the show driving home tonight. A wonderful interview of Fr. Tom Ryan, CSP on fasting. I’ll have to wait til next week to hear the archived version.

That’s odd. 🤷 Visit our Facebook page. You don’t need to have a Facebook account or be logged into Facebook to access it. 🙂

If you’re in the Bay Area by all means come visit us. St. Basil’s in Los Gatos is also a very vibrant community. Their pastor, Fr Anthony, is also celebrating Divine Liturgy in Walnut Creek every second Saturday evening at 6:15 p.m.

Excellent! I live in San Francisco and don’t own a car, so I’ll probably just visit Our Lady of Fatima.

The interview with Fr Kevin Kennedy which aired last Friday has now been added to the Audio Archives page of Immaculate Heart Radio. 🙂 The interview explores the history of Russian Byzantine Catholics, and of our Parish. In the Archives scroll down to “San Francisco Archbishop’s Hour” and click on the March 01, 2013 date.

The interview with Fr Kevin begins around minute 12:30, following Monsignor Tarantino’s reflection on the Gospel reading last Sunday in the Latin Church. (Msgr. Tarantino has been a wonderful friend to OLF parish during the great changes we’ve gone through this past year. It’s always good to hear his voice, too.)

Well done Father Kevin! We look forward to another interview in the future.

Bonus minutes: immediately after the interview with Fr Kevin, Fr Vito, our pastor, speaking in his role with his community the Contemplatives of St Joseph, reflects on the recent Walk for Life West Coast.

And after Fr Vito’s reflection is another interview, this one with Fr Tom Ryan. Fr Tom offers helpful teaching about fasting. While he refers to praxis of the Latin Church, different from our own, much in his teaching will of interest also to us in the East, in the universal aspects.

For those of you who might be interested, there is a Maronite Catholic Church in Sacramento, CA. Father Nabil (sp?) is the pastor and former pastor of a Maronite parish in El Cajon, CA. He is very dedicated to Our Lady and has built wonderful shrines in her honor with very large statues that can be seen from quite far away.
