Tell me all about something wonderful you have seen a father (a mortal fatherā€¦ we all know God is great šŸ˜‰ ) do for his kidsā€¦the more specific the better.

Ha no replys yetā€¦ so I will give you one.

When I was a little kids my dad used to let me work in his shop with him. We would listen to ā€œgolden oldiesā€ on the radio and sand the airplane he was building while we talked. It always made me feel important.

Just at mass on Sunday, I saw something that I tought was beautiful. A young dad, held his two little sons (about 3 and 1 years old) one in each arm, and somehow, still very gracefully assist his largely pregnant wife up and down the steps to the communion rail. It touched me for some reason.

When I was a little girl and would go on a walk with my dad, he would never grab hold of my hand and drag me along (so to speak). He would just extend his his index finger for me to wrap my little hand around it and off we would go.

On the day he passed away the only image in my mind was that of his out stretched index finger and my little hand holding tight to it.

When I was a child and had a question about something my dad couldnā€™t answer (Dad, why is the sky blue?), he never dismissed me, or faked an answer.

He would usually answer, ā€˜I donā€™t knowā€™, cart me down to the library, find books on the topic, and weā€™d find the answer together. His example, time, and attention beyond being a treasured time, has also given me a great love of reading that I have cherished ever since.
