Are there any prayers in the Church that are even shorter, and even significantly shorter than the Hail Mary?

Just found a bunch
Guess I should have Googled it first
But if you know any more let me know

I find, “Help me, Jesus!” to be a good short prayer. Also, “Come Holy Spirit!”

Even the holy names “Jesus” and “Mary” can be prayers in and of themselves. Joan of Arc just kept repeating “Jesus” as she was burned.

A favorite Orthodox one is: “Most Holy Theotokos, Save us!”

(Theotokos = “God-bearer” = Mary)

Unless you are specifically looking for a Marian prayer, the Jesus Prayer is about the shortest and most powerful that I’m aware of. So short, in fact, that it may be worthwhile to learn to recite it in Latin )

OP, here’s a short prayer. The Sub Tuum Praesidium Prayer. This prayer was first found in a Greek papyrus, c. 300 A.D., and is thought to be the oldest known prayer to the Virgin.
We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
In Latin;

SUB tuum praesidium confugimus, Sancta Dei Genetrix. Nostras deprecationes ne despicias in necessitatibus, sed a periculis cunctis libera nos semper, Virgo gloriosa et benedicta. Amen.

Yes the one on my miraculous medal:
‘Regina Sine Labe Originali Concepta Ora Pro Nobis’., which translates ‘Queen conceived without original sin, pray for us’

There is also the short prayer inscribed on the Miraculous Medal - ‘O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.’

Great minds think alike 🙂

The Medals I have seen have the English version that I have posted.

“Mary” itself is a prayer. You’ll also get an indulgence for such a short but meaningful prayer.

tbh, I don’t remember really. I think I came across it on a priests blog some years ago.

edit.

After googling it I see on one source it is attributed to St. Mother Teresa.

Whilst not specifically Marian, Jesus, Mary and Joseph I love you save souls amen, is a particular favorite short prayer of mine.

Taught to me in my youth, and rediscovered in my Pieta prayer book.

Edit.

After some research on google here is the source for this prayer:

“Jesus, Mary, I love you! Save souls!” is a little prayer that comes to us by way of private revelation from Our Lord to Sister Maria Consolata Betrone. He told her that one prayer would repair 1,000 blasphemies and at the end he would gather her prayers up and use them for sinners.

I was taught to include St Joseph’s name as well.
