I am so mixed up. I tried to figure this out myself from the first Monday after Pentecost but have no idea if I am right. What week are we on in the Shorter Christian Prayer? Help, please!!!
We are in week IV if you are using the current calendar - Ordinary Time. Don’t know what you do if you are using the older calendar. Don’t think Shorter Christian Prayer even envisages that.
For the current calendar divide the week number in Ordinary time by 4. The remainder is the week for the LOTH. We are currently week 28; divide by 4 and there is no remainder:so week IV.
If in doubt go to Divine Office. They even tell you the page numbers. They are still getting organized in some areas; so miss a memorial now and then.
I would also suggest that you get a Guide to the Shorter Christian Prayer. It is laid out by date and has the page numbers for each hour and the readings listed for each day. If you choose to honor a particular saint on their feast day those readings are also provided. These handy guides come out every year and are normally available online for around $2 or $3.
