Should a bishop have rebuked me for loving Israel?

I recently joined Facebook and “friended” with a bishop who will remain nameless. I also joined a group that supports Israel and loves our Jewish brothers and sisters. This bishop visited my page and there he admonished me for supporting and loving these people and their homeland. I was horrified! This bishop is prejudiced and a racist! Is this proper conduct for anyone who wears a clerical collar? Should I report him? I am still in shock.

I don’t know what the bishop said or to what exactly he was reacting. For example, it is very possible that he had reservations about the particular group that you joined and did not intend to “[admonish you] for supporting and loving these people [Jews] and their homeland [Israel].” In any case, while it is indeed surprising that a bishop would comment at all on a stranger’s Facebook site, much less to “admonish” that person for support of Israel, it would be more charitable of you to presume that you misunderstood what the bishop was trying to say. The most I could recommend doing is to delete the comment that offended you and remove the bishop from your friend list.
