In Hispanic culture, it is an act of reverence to name a boy Jesus; but in Anglo culture, it is an act of reverence not to do so. If a parent is considering the name for a son, it might be best to follow his or her own culture’s expression of reverence. An Anglo parent might instead choose the name Joshua, an English form of Jesus and a common name for boys.
