I’m skeptical due to the heavy “hollywood” support.

World Vision is involved, and after hearing the CEO speak at a commencement some years ago, I’ve always avioded them. I can’t remember what he said specifically but it was definately and shockingly new-age.

The above linked website says one of the goals of this campaign is to fight the global AIDS crisis. While this is a worthy ambition, this organization does not say how they propose to do this. As there are many immoral (and innefective) ways to attempt this, I would not recommend supporting this effort until and unless this organization discloses that they intend to use only moral methods to combat AIDS, as are successfully being used in Uganda. In the meanwhile, Catholic Relief Services is already fighting poverty and AIDS, and would put your donations to good use.

If it has anything to do with New Age run the other direction,stay away from it.Lucis Trust and the rest of the cohorts are no good.

I would check out data.org. This organization has a very clear and precise plan of how they want to help in Africa including debt relief, advocacy for different trade regulations that would allow Africans to help themselves, medical assistance and treatment, etc. Bono, U2’s lead singer is one of the founders for this organization and it’s very grassroots - social justice. I get emails from the ONE campaign as well, but like another poster mentioned, they are much more vague in how they want to help in Africa, and they have a lot of Hollywood backing.
