This is a TV series available through Netflix (imdb.com/title/tt2372162/). I think it’s a brilliant show with incredible characters that are fully developed.

For those who have seen it, what do you think? Like most movies and shows, it is geared toward a left-leaning secular demographic.

Should Christians be watching it? Why or why not? I love the show, but with the random smattering of lesbian or anti-Christian scenes, I wonder if I should be supporting the show by watching it.

As you are a rational human being, you don’t have to accept anything you experience in its entirety. I can understand not recommending certain things to the ignorant and unintelligent or to children, but it seems you are able to discern what is flawed in this television show and thus posses a rational mind capable of making distinctions.

Now, as art, I would say that the television show is cheap entertainment and I wouldn’t recommend it on aesthetic grounds. 😉

At different points, I thought about volunteering at a prison and wanted to see that, thinking it might help me. I watched just the beginning of the very first episode. I figured it’d get past that part, to just be patient, but it was bad part after bad part after bad part!

So, as much as I’d really like to watch a show which teaches me about life in a modern-day prison, I made a decision that particular series would be off limits…at least for me.

I don’t know if it’s “moral” or not to watch, but I would at least skip or fast-forward through certain scenes…

With the bad scenes, I skip past them. With the scenes that bash Christianity, like Piper’s atheist monologue, I’m like, “Whatever. May God open your eyes.”
