You are going to the most holy Mass which should be a wonderful experience, instead you are annoyed, irritated and even offended. What a victory for Satan!
I really needed to read this, I think. Thank you.

And thank you to all who’ve replied to my post. I’ve read all your suggestions and opinions and will take them all into consideration.

Sit up close to the front so you don’t have to see the scandelous behavior of the parishioners.
Unfortunately, that is not always the effective solution it should be. At the cathedral where I attend 5:30PM Mass on weekdays, there are always stragglers coming in late. And I cannot get over how many of them insist on sitting toward the front – if not THE front pews. In fact, some of them have no problem practically climbing over people, just so they can sit up front. I wish the ushers would cordon off most of the rows once the Mass begins, and require latecomers to sit in the back. If people cannot or will not get to Mass a few minutes before it starts, they should at least have enough humility not to be even the least bit distracting or disruptive.

And the almost non-stop chatter… take it outside already! Do these people not have any sense of where they are?
