Should I confess if I can't remember if I committed a sin or not?

A number of years ago, before I really began to take my faith seriously, I attended a wedding at a Lutheran church. I remember being struck by the similarities to the Catholic Church but honestly do not remember if I went to their “communion”. This has been haunting me terribly as of late because I have been learning so much more about the Eucharist and fear that I may have offended God.

I wish I knew for sure, but I just can’t remember. Should I confess something that I possibly did?

Hi,

It sounds like you were in ignorance of the Church’s teachings regarding the Eucharist. So even if you did receive their eucharist, you didn’t sin. But if it will put our mind at ease, you can mention that matter the next time you go to Confession.
