So there is a church that is very close to my house, easily within walking distance. I’ve been to mass there before and I witnessed some obvious liturgical abuse, so I usually travel a bit farther to get to a much better church.
I do not plan to go to mass there, but I would like to go to confession there, partially because of the distance and partially just because I never go there…I hate scheduling appointments for confession at my usual parish because I see the priest every single week. I need to go on a weekday after school and it’s just the easiest option.
I’ve been to confession there just once and it seemed fine, it took place in the priest’s office because there is no confessional but otherwise it went just like normal. I don’t know just how blurred the lines are between the sacraments so I would like to just ask…is there any harm at all in going there for confession even though their mass is clearly problematic?
