Should I receive Protestant communion until I become Catholic?

I am seriously considering becoming Catholic and will hopefully be ready to join RCIA next fall. I have just a few more questions left to sort out. I know that I cannot receive Catholic Communion until I become Catholic. In the meantime, should I take communion at my parents’ Evangelical church since I no longer agree that it is merely symbolic? I haven’t been participating, and wanted to see if this was the right thing.
 
If you no longer agree with the Protestant understanding of the Eucharist, you should not be receiving Protestant communion. Although it is fine for you to continue attending your parents’ church while trying to decide whether you should become Catholic, you may want to start attending Mass as well. While you cannot receive Catholic Communion, exposure to the Mass and making spiritual communions at Communion time may be of assistance in resolving your lingering questions about the faith. Spiritual communion is a personal prayer for union with Christ and with the assembled believers.
