I took something that isn’t mine but I confessed the sin, I still have it though, so should I return it ? What if I don’t return it? ( I wasn’t told so by the priest). Am I still forgiven?

Of course, you should return it, if possible. Do you really question what Christ teaches on this?

If you are looking for a loophole, you don’t have one. I am assuming it doesn’t rise to the level of theft, so return it, and go back and confess the rest of your sin.

Part of repentance is reparation. If one is truly sorry for the harm they have done and desires to be in a right relationship with God, then they will take the steps necessary to rectify the wrong done (as much as possible).

Why would you think you shouldn’t return it? It does not belong to you.
The priest didn’t tell you to “take something” either, but you did. You don’t need him to tell you to return it.
