I haven’t received the Blood since my first communion and want to start receiving the Blood again. I don’t know though if I am supposed to swallow the Host first or not. I usually can’t swallow until I get back to my pew so if I’m supposed to swallow first then I can’t receive the Blood.

It does not matter, and the Church does not have any instructions about this. My advice is to treat the Host normally – don’t swallow it extra-quickly just because you’re approaching the Chalice, but also don’t keep it in your mouth overly long just so you can have it there when you receive the Blood. If the Host is still in your mouth, that’s fine; if you’ve already swallowed it, that’s fine too.

I would say just do it as you recieve them.
I don’t think completly clearing of one before the other is important.
just make sure you can swallow each without any problems.
and leftovers from one still on the mouth shouldnt matter.
I have taken the blood while some body was still in my mouth.

Don’t you receive at the same time in the Byzantine Rite through intinction? The Body immersed in the Blood and you receive via the Golden Spoon?

I’m personally glad this is the case. When I clicked this thread I was fearful I would acquire knowledge that I didn’t really want. I have been quite content with this method and didn’t want to have to go out of my way to be able to consume the wine.
