Should I write a letter about this....?

With my 16-year-old, I try to “not see” some of these things. The hair-dye job that looked like a large bird had made a big drop on her head went away when I didn’t “notice” it.
Very wise advice.

Tonight I will be redying my 15 year old’s hair back to blond from pink. I do give her a lot of “creative space” though since she gets almost all A’s (save for an occasional B) and is taking all honors & AP classes. She knows that is her get out of jail free card.

I still am having heart-ache though that she has dropped out of confirmation and isn’t sure if she believes in God or religion. My only solace is that she is most bothered by the lukewarm cafeteria variety personal comments she has received from some of her catechists over the years. She realizes that if the Catholic Church teaches the truth that it shouldn’t change and that everything should not be a matter of opinion. She just wonders how I can believe that the Church teaches the truth if so many in teaching positions don’t seem convinced. She just won’t actually give me the chance to explain to her why I believe the Church teaches the truth. She is 15 afterall, and I am just her mom. I have a lot of faith that she’ll come around.

…and at least her thrift shop reject styles actually came from a thrift shop - and only set her back a dollar or two…
