Cost of living, housing, ect, I always think in terms of Northern Virginia (I was there for the first 42 years of my life ) prices: They Pac NW is cheap by comparison
Generally if I watch something secular, Iāll only watch it if I really think thereās a good message or something inspiring to be gained from it that outweighs anything questionable (violence and immodesty). If itās something you find that affects your faith then itās better to find other entertainment thatās more meaningful. I think for girls ā with fashion movies if they do find it has a negative impact on how they regard their own bodies or material goods then they may be better off watching something else. I sound like a nerd but thereās a lot of really great documentaries that may enrich someoneās mind and life more. Personally I find sometimes I waste too much time on entertainment in general, even if itās harmless entertainment.
But I have a soft spot for some silly comedies sometimes.
Mean Girls, Iād say at least that movie at least had a meaningful underlying message. Cady Heron learned that sabotaging someone else, being obsessed with appearance and being ācoolā was pointless. She learned the value in the academic gifts she had and the importance of doing the right thing and being a good friend.
I never got into Gossip Girl or Pretty Little Liars, and I havenāt seen Clueless in years so Iāve forgotten all about it!
I can only talk for myself. But the more I watch āmaterialisticā movies the more I dislike our materialistic culture. Iām not one to be easily swayed by media but like I said I canāt speak for others here
