Have you ever seen an Altar Girl at a Mass at St Peter’s? Why not?The decision Pope John Paul II made not to allow Altar girls in his Diocese?

You really need to look up logical fallacies especially those concerning temporal sequence as causality.Female altar servers permitted - 1994
Desperate shortage of priests - 2008
What I’m saying is that he gave permission for them to be used. As long as that permission was granted by the late Holy Father I accept it and I believe every decision he makes is inspired by the Holy Spirit. The decision Pope John Paul II made not to allow Altar girls in his Diocese?
As long as she understands the meaning of what she’s doing, yes, by all means let her. It’s great to get young people to get involved with the Church, but I’ve had too many people in my age group involved who only are involved because of their peers. And that’s fine, but I really wish they knew what they were doing. Our 11 year old daughter wants to be an altar girl, I am against it. I guess I’m “old school”, I think it should only be for boys and young men. She has a classmate (also an eleven year old), her best friend who serves at Mass. I’m not sure if our daughter wants to serve Mass because her friend is doing it or because she really wants to. What do you think?
No he gave permission for Bishops to give permission for Parish Priests within their Diocese to give permission for girls to become Altar servers. What I’m saying is that he gave permission for them to be used. Friend,No he gave permission for Bishops to give permission for Parish Priests within their Diocese to give permission for girls to become Altar servers.
If you believe that “every decision he makes is inspired by the Holy Spirit” then you believe that his decision not to allow Altar girls in his own Diocese was also inspired by the Holy Spirit.
So do you or do you not support allowing Altar girls?Friend,
Again, I support his decision to allow those bishop’s and priest’s to allow them. And yes I believe he prayed before making that decision.
The Holy Father allows Bishop’s and Priest’s to use female altar servers if they choose to do so. So yes I support that decision. I never said that I think there should just be female servers but if he allows them to be used I am fine with that. I’ am not aware of a rule that forbids them in the vatican, but if he says that I support that too. I’m just saying he allows priest’s and bishop’s outside the vatican to use them so I support that decision for the females to be used.So do you or do you not support allowing Altar girls?
After all the Pope doesn’t allow them in his Diocese, that was his decision. And as you have said previously “If one is in opposition to a rule that is decided by the Holy Father are they really in full communion with the church?”. The Holy Father set a rule that Altar girls weren’t allowed, do you support that?
Very interesting. So there are not supposed to be altar girls at all, then? There are absolutely no documents that permit altar girls? What justification was used for the change, then?.
Read this article from This Rock magazine:
"JUST THE FACTS, PLEASE, ON ALTAR GIRLS"
By HELEN HULL HITCHCOCK

This article is more current (2001), but it’s just an address, not a juridical document. JPII addresses the girls that are there, but he doesn’t really say anything one way or the other about the practice of having altar girls. I wouldn’t think that this statement alone would serve as justification for altar girls. The latter half of the webpage with guidelines for altar servers seems to be coming from the USCCB. I would hope that those guidelines are either based on a liturgical document from the Holy See, or that they were approved by the Holy See. Do you know which of these might be the case?Try this from John Paul II instead
Pope John Paul II to Gathering of Altar Servers

It’s a little more current.
