Should people be allowed to wear shorts and sandals at Mass?

Your comment about “preadolescents” in posting #179 was both crude and disturbing. It does show a certain, rather chilling mindset.

I posted that because MOST people do not look so closely at servers who are covered in robes or albs to try to determine what they may be wearing underneath!! If anyone is peering so closely to see what these preadolescents (so stated because most servers, at least in our parish, are between the ages of 9 and 13) are wearing underneath all that covering, they have bigger issues to deal with. The Catholic Church hid this problem for many years. Is does happen. It is very real. To deny this is to be a fool.

I’m not sure who “Crusader” is, but I am certain that you know down deep that shorts have no place in the sanctuary.

Crusader, as you probably know, was a character who liked to stire the pot and be rather controversial. The only “right way” was his opinionated way. Do a search. It actually was quite humorous.

You have repeatedly stated your opinion. Others have stated theirs. Too bad you can’t respect the fact that others have different opinions than you. There are no rules or laws regulating what type of clothing one must wear to mass. To pretend otherwise is silly and pretentious. I will continue to wear shorts, skirts that are above the knee, and sleeveless tops until the heat ends. You don’t have to approve, but then I am not asking for your approval either!!
