I don’t see a problem with it, as long as it’s seperate beds, of course. You said you trust your daughter.

Think of it this way-if she is really serious about him, this will give you a chance to get to know him better.

17 and 19 though. How does that happen? I couldn’t start a family when I was 19. Sounds as if no one is in school or studying to become anything of societal worth. What kind of job does a 19 year old get in this economy. Or is this a way to touch up the state for some kind of support?

That’s what kids do here in MA. High school moms get the satisfaction of being grown-up or superior to their in-school peers. “I was such a child before I had my baby…” etc. etc. You read some of their empty-headed sentiments on motherhood or fatherhood…makes your blood run cold.

I’ve become such an old crank, God help me.

Well, he’ll be twenty or 21 by then. Around here a person that age could be, say, an electricians apprentice, working and earning a living.

But I think kids getting married that young should be especially careful to make a plan for how they are going to get along.
