I am still waiting for Blessed Miguel Pro to be canonized. What is the hold-up here? Should not martyrdom be an almost instant cause for canonization? He is, after all, the Proto-Martyr of Mexco.

I honestly have no idea what’s going on with that. He’s already beatified which means that all they’re really waiting for is a proven miracle. Perhaps there just needs to be more prayer for that to happen.

Being on the other side of the world, I always thought it wa an Italian custom.

Just plain signs of the cross out this way, often with the left hand on the heart, or slightly lower, and the hands ending in a position of prayer… I think.
