For a couple of major reasons I would like to find a silent Mass without singing that is. Do dioceses have a list of these? My parish as nothing but Masses with sing. I have a hearaing problem that is causing me serious difficulty. It is best if I am not around loud music.

Sincerely,

Sadowa

If you can find a parish with a 6:30 or 7:00am Mass, it is likely it will be devoid of lots of music. However, I think on Sundays they will still have some, but it would likely be a single singer at an organ. If that is still causing problems, you might ask them if they can turn it down some, after explaining your situation.

You might want to consider some ear plugs that aren’t rated too heavily so that sound can still get through, but not enough to cause disturbances.

Is it vertigo?

At my church the 7 AM and 8 AM masses have no music. At my backup church the 7 PM weeknight masses have no music. Your best bet is to go early in the mornings.

Depending on where you live, you might try to find a Mass for the deaf. Sometimes these are simply regular Masses with an interpreter, but sometimes they are specifically for the deaf and do not have any singing (something that is not a part of the Deaf culture).

**Try

www.masstimes.org**

you can put in your city or zip code and find various Masses in your area. Most churches cannot afford to have an organist for daily masses and songs are sung without the benefit of any type of instrument.

Good luck.
