Has anyone tried or done this before?

Have you ever prayed for something that you deemed silly? And I’m not just talking about praying for it, but actually doing that something.

I can’t discuss what I’ve done, but I did it and prayed for the matter too. I did it because I’ve ran out of ideas of what to try. I’ve been praying and trying different things, and so far nothing has happened. So I got these ‘crazy’ ideas and went ahead in doing them.

Take note that this thing I did is not immoral, illegal, or controversial. Like I said, I’ve tried and tried, and I don’t know what else to do. And I’ve prayed a lot too, praying continuously.

I’m not obsessed either. It’s not like I think about it 24/7. I actually live my life and try to be happy and try to engage in activities that are worthwhile, and a lot of things are keeping my occupied.

That said, I still don’t know what to do. Should I keep praying and pursuing what I desire or not? How am I supposed to know if it’s God’s will? If it’s not happening, should I assume that it’s not and stop at that?

I have to admit that I’m feeling tired. I don’t know what to do.

Rest… Take a break, get out in the air, go for a walk, dig the garden, climb a mountain and get some air into your lungs… overthinking is a terrible thing to do to yourself… watch a film …

Luke 12
31 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his justice, and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock, for it hath pleased your Father to give you a kingdom.

I also say “Thank You, Lord” several times a day.

[Couldn’t find my favorite beads … looked everywhere. They turned up next to my chair, which was filled with books.]

I’m tired of the “silly” prayer requests & topics on CAF ! 😛

This is a great idea for everyone!~

we all pray for “silly things” at one time or another. We tend to pray for what we want or don’t need. We are answered according to the will of the Father as to what will promote the Love of God and our fellow man. If your silly prayer fits within these perimeters somehow, then keep your prayer intentions simmering, and not forgotten. Remember as you pray you are also praying for your family as we are one big family in the universal scheme of creation. Peace.🙂

Oh all the time. Especially to St. Anthony. I can’t count the times I have prayed to St. Anthony, and apologizing because I keep losing my car keys.

He always helps me. Some times I can almost see his eyes rolling while he is saying, “For heaven’s sake.”

Some may say that this is just superstition but I don’t know about that. At any rate, we are made in the image and likeness of God, and one of the most endearing human quality is a sense of humor. God must have a sense of humor because he made puppies.

The simplest of things often are. i am rarely out these days and know from long experience that the mind can intensify and distort things in solitude and in worry also. We are physical beings and need to respect that as the old monks, nuns and especially hermits always did wtth their very physical way of life… I know now that when things get too intense I need out. Always works even when I get stranded in a traffic foul up. 😉 Get the blood circulating.

There is a fellow on television, Andrew Zimmern, who travels around the world eating bizarre foods.

Well, they are bizarre to us here on the highway store locations in the USofA.

Anyway, we dined out at Subway, and in chatting with them, I was able to combine some of their ingredients into one of the “bizarre” foods … and it was quite tasty.

So, afterwards, I said a prayer of thanksgiving.

I think there’s no such thing as “too little” for God 🙂 the details in our lives are important to Him too. As for silly things, I think it depends on why we did them.

Its good to seek God’s Will in everything but I think the intent to always do His Will is more important than certainty about every detail. We won’t always know, but God does look at our intent. We can certainly ask Him to guide us.
