But people rise from the dead all the time in Buddhism. That is another similarity as I mentioned before. We call it reincarnation.

Really? Is that so important to Christians? I must ask my friends. I have never understood its importance. Would you mind explaining why?
This is why you should have read my initial response instead of ignoring it… If you want to understand resurrection I reccomend a little 700 page book by one NT Wright, Jesus and the Resurrection of the son of God, in which he deals with all the ancient material concerning the use of the word in greek philosophy, Jewish beliefs and etc. Reincarnation, is not resurrection.

Resurrection is what we see in Daniel where the righteous dead and the unrighteous dead are risen from the earth and given new life now have immortal glorified bodies, some unto everlasting peace and others to damnation. The Jews had an idea of what Resurrection was and it was not being born again in another body, it was God taking this world and making it permanent.

No what I was wondering is why you think Resurrection is so special that you willing to disregard the teachings of your Master if it isnt true?

I mean is there no other way for you to validate His teachings? Aren’t there any means of direct communication with its Source? Like the Pope or someone?

Then also what is it that you think Jesus resurrection proves? Do you think it is applicable to you as well? Why?

How can you be sure it is repeatable? Just because something happened once does not mean it can happen again in my book.

Just curious. I for one who have strong ties to a community where rebirth is commonplace am more impressed by the words and deeds of Jesus than his resurrection.
