I haven’t ever seen anything that would indicate ovulation occurring more than 24 hours apart in any of the NFP sources I’ve seen… Implantation bleeding, according to my OB can actually happen a few times, as the baby grows, if the uterus is sensitive.

Actually, twins have been conceived weeks apart, and even with different fathers! Google “twins conceived on different days” and you’ll get news articles. There’s just not a lot of information out there for twins. 🤷

Here’s one link (see number 7):

…I noticed (and I bet all forms of NFP make this assumption) that this site said a woman ovulates on just one day. I know that I conceived my boys on different days. I had a lot of mucous for an extended time, and I also had implantation bleeding several days apart. …
Billings would still have worked for you in terms of identifying the fertile window. You don’t actually know for sure when the peak day is until it is past (mucus symptoms decline). One caveat to keep in mind is medications that affect nasal mucus affect mucus, ELSEWHERE too! Probably the biggest downside to Billing’s if you get nasty colds.

Billings is certainly as simple as it gets. Monitor cervical mucus daily for peaky symptoms (slippery stuff!). On the fourth day after the peak, you aren’t fertile anymore.

You and others have really gotten me interested in Billings.

Interesting about the medicine…I have a cold now but can’t take my favorite decongestant because it can dry up milk, too!

The American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology published an abstract stating that mucus only methods are more effective at identifying the actual fertility window than basal body temperature methods. The Billings Ovulation Method is the original mucus only method that has been researched and perfected for 60 years. Read the abstract here! ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/12468181/

Most people using Billings to achieve pregnancy achieve that first cycle they try. There are stats somewhere just can’t think where right now.
I’m not going to go hunting. Does it actually mention billings by name?

I’m all for any NFP method that works, however, I think asserting things beyond their scope isn’t a very good thing. If billings works for you, Wonderful. Stick with it. Let’s just not assert something further than what is really there.

Creighton is also a mucous only method, and also had been very scientifically based, as well as standardized teaching method, and the only one that has scientific observing methods.

FYI, I don’t know of any temperature-only methods. I mean, I guess you could just chart your temperatures and wait until you saw a temp rise to know when you’ve ovulated, but most methods that use basal body temperature also use mucus.
