Sin of Presumption?

Dear Forum

I started this thread and now I am worried that I have commited the Sin of Presumption. Becuase after I commited it, Inside my mind, I think I said, Its a good thing that there is confession tommorrow, so as that I dont have to stay in sin for long. Is this Presumption or Hope, And How do I know I have Hope and not presumption? Now, Im really scared, as I dont want to go to hell, I cant wait until confession tommorrow, but worried that I am presuming. Should I not go to confession instead??

Today we were driving home, and dad was talking to me about some things to do with ancient Greek History. Then, dad kept rambling on, and wouldnt let me finish what I wanted to say, and I mentioned how my public High school’s, Grade 12 Ancient History class will probably mention Our LORD in History, then dad kept going on, and he mentioned the point I told him a while back, about how our Faith teaches that Our LORD is always in the present, never in the past or future and he corrected me for mentioning our LORD and History as if Our LORD was just SOMEONE historical (I know HE isnt), then he told me that he is crazy/nuts/militant about this kind of thing.

Here is the part Im afraid is sinful

I then told him that I could see that he is^^^^^ (the things he said about himself above), in impatience sort of, but I blurted it out.

Mortal sin?

For it to be a mortal sin It must be committed with full knowledge, both of the sin and of the gravity of the offense. But because you aren’t sure whether or not you sinned, it seems you didn’t have full knowledge. Therefore, I would say it isn’t a mortal sin.

Go to Confession if it will ease your conscience. Make sure you talk to your priest about your scrupulosity.

If I understand correctly, you are worried about going to hell because you agreed with your father. How could that possibly be a sin?

I think you may be a little scrupulous. I also don’t think it is presumptuous to want to confess.

The sin of presumption is committed when someone believes they will go to Heaven no matter what.

Please Help!!

I could not follow this but it would be better to ask a priest about this instead of asking over the internet to get opinions. You need to find a spiritual director to help you.
