I don’t actually know. Are you friending her because of her picture, or because she is, in fact, a friend of yours, and you want to keep up with her through FaceBook? And if they don’t it would be sinful to friend them?
I’m adding them because I know them, not because of their pictures.I don’t actually know. Are you friending her because of her picture, or because she is, in fact, a friend of yours, and you want to keep up with her through FaceBook?
Well the Catholic Church doesn’t have a straight up rule about everything. So I can’t give you something to read but I can say, do you really think that just because one of your friends, not you, has a photo that may be not the best; that God will punish you just for adding them as a friend ? Doesn’t seem likely.Do you have any evidence that these wouldn’t be sins? It’s one thing to say it, but it would be nice to know.
I hate to keep this thread alive for so long, but I’d really like an answer quick.
One day at a time. If a problem occurs, simply mention it to your friend in private.Actually, at the moment, none of their pictures are very immodest at all. I fear that they could change them to immodest photos, though. Or someone could click on them from my page and see their alternate photos.
Mcatholic, I think you should be considering giving up membership on face book, sounds like someone is trying to tell you something! Is it after all, that important to you? If it causes you to constantly worry about it being an occasion of sin, find a much more worthwhile way to communicate. And also, what if you friend someone who at the time doesn’t have an immodest picture, but then changes it to something immodest?
