That is, that I am becoming Catholic, a lot, I mean, a lot of things have been happening in my life.

Bad things. Things that are really out of my control. Does anyone know what I mean?

Tell me your experiences. What is going on here?

It crossed my mind to forget about RCIA until next year, but I just don’t think I can do it.

Seeds of doubt? Don’t worry. Just trust in Lord and pray the Holy Spirit will guide you.

Oh, no, no, no! Not seeds of doubt…I have no doubt at all about converting! 😃

It’s more of…I don’t have time for RCIA because this has happened or that has happened.

You name it, it’s happened in the last month.

Employee problems, sickness in the family, like something is trying to keep me from the Holy Spirit.

Congratulations on feeling led to become Catholic - what a blessing! Certainly Satan doesn’t like that, so don’t give in to the difficulties that seem like they’ll keep you from RCIA. You can do it – keep praying.

I don’t know if you’re familiar with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, but if you’re not, you should learn about it. It is wonderful.
:blessyou:

Try not to give in to the thoughts about postponing things until next year. Satan is never happy to lose one more soul and will try anything to keep you. When I first came back to the Church, I decided to go to Adoration every week. You wouldn’t believe the things that happened every week just before I’d leave for Church.

The current problems will eventually stop but he’s a wily one. I’ve found the challenges become more subtle and therefore more dangerous. It’s spiritual warfare. You have to hang tough and have the courage to follow your convictions. Trust in Jesus and when you get caught up in things think before you make any decisions and ask yourself “is this what God would want me to do?” I find that usually makes me realize what the correct course is and things simmer down. Until the next time.

God bless.

I remember reading in Raymond Arroyo’s book about Mother Angelica that she faced several (mostly physical) obstacles while trying to set up EWTN network. She’s a great role model. Nothing can stop the Holy Spirit.

Praying for you …

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen…

Well, something is more like someone. I would take a stab that it might be the Prince of Darkness throwing darts at you. Keep praying. Do you have a sponsor? Ask him/her to pray for you. Actually the whole parish should be alerted to pray for candidates.

Prayers, and whatever you do don’t give up!! That’s what Satan wants!!

Praying that the angels will protect you from the attacks for satan and that is what this is childish attacks on his part to keep you from coming into the Church and he probably knows the good you will do and the possibility of all the souls you will snatch from him and give to Jesus, so do not let him win. God Bless you and will be praying for you. I agree with an earlier poster, learn and pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. 🙂

You’re being spiritually attacked for your decision to become Catholic.

Just pray and stay on course.

Welcome home!

God Bless!

It crossed my mind to forget about RCIA until next year, but I just don’t think I can do it.
It’s actually never crossed my mind, because I feel a sense of urgency to it. Once my mind is made up, it usually doesn’t change. As soon as I know this is something I want, I go after it. Patience - or rather impatience - can sometimes be an issue, though.

All in good time.

Bad things happen to everyone. Look at what happened to Christ on the cross!!! If anything, I would think you’d want the comfort of your faith and the security in the knowledge you are one with the ‘one true church’ when going through bad things. Maybe God is testing your faith or intentions? Maybe it is coincidence.

As a recent graduate of the RCIA program, I can’t even explain what a difference RCIA and Catholicism made in my life. At first, the changes were subtle and with some of the things we learned, I thought, 'Hmmm, I’m not so sure about this." However, I continued on and I am now a different person.

Just open your heart to God and trust him. If bad things are happening, wouldn’t you rather be closer to God than further away?

No, you are just having a bad patch: speak to a priest about it all.

God bless you and keep you.

At Lourdes, the young girl Bernadette was told by the Blessed Mother, “…I cannot promise you happiness in this world but only in the next…”
Converting sometimes seems like more pitfalls are in front of us than ordinary. Maybe they are; maybe it’s just the natural course of events.

Try, when waking each morning, dedicate the day with every breath you take and all the good things you may do to the Holy Family.

Say, “I dedicate this day to you Lord Jesus, Mother Dear and Father Joseph.” Do this and they will walk beside to you throughout the entire day. You’ll be in the greatest company in the entire Universe. They are VERY REAL.

Update on all the bad things that are happening…😃 You don’t want to know!

I spent over an hour yesterday at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Hanceville, I did lots and lots of praying.

I pray the Divine Mercy every day and Rosary. Just keeping my intentions for God’s help.

The thing is, I do feel peace inside like never before, although my outside world is stressful.

Strange 🤷 maybe I AM growing spiritually.

I am reading St. Faustina’s Diary…just started it a few days ago and it’s blessing my socks off 😃

I’ve been on a long, long journey home. I’m not going to give up now.

I love Faustina’s Diary!

Good for you, to keep on going, DJgang,
🙂 👍

Continued prayers for you,

You know what keeps me going when I feel like putting things off? Christ didn’t want to go through all He went through either, but He did it! What can you say when you think of that?

Where do you live here in Alabama The Beautiful?
