Sinful?

For a moment I have had thoughts that question God’s existence. They seem to come to mind randomly. I don’t entertain them, and I try to dispel them from my mind. I have confessed the thoughts twice, but now it seems that I cannot avoid them because I am constantly worried about committing the sin. Do I need to confess even though I am not voluntarily choosing to doubt?

To question God’s existence is remarkably normal. He is so beyond one’s comprehension. St. Augustin once commented that if anyone claimed to understand God, he had created an idol for himself. Give yourself a break and focus on the things in your life that likely were created by a loving Father.
