Have you seen this excellent Pro-Life Brochure before? It was handed out in our church’s bulletin twice now. Read it, its great!

After a speech, Pro-Life activist Penny Lea was approached by an old man. Weeping, he told her the following story:

"I lived in Germany during the Nazi holocaust. I considered myself a Christian. I attended church since I was a small boy. We had heard the stories of what was happening to the Jews, but like most people today in this country, we tried to distance ourselves from the reality of what was really taking place. What could anyone do to stop it?

A railroad track ran behind our small church, and each Sunday morning we would hear the whistle from a distance and then the clacking of the wheels moving over the track. We became disturbed when one Sunday we noticed cries coming from the train as it passed by. We grimly realized that the train was carrying Jews. They were like cattle in those cars!

Week after week that train whistle would blow. We would dread to hear the sound of those old wheels because we knew that the Jews would begin to cry out to us as they passed our church. It was so terribly disturbing! We could do nothing to help these poor miserable people, yet their screams tormented us. We knew exactly at what time that whistle would blow, and we decided the only way to keep from being so disturbed by the cries was to start singing our hymns. By the time that train came rumbling past the church yard, we were singing at the top of our voices. If some of the screams reached our ears, we’d just sing a little louder until we could hear them no more. Years have passed and no one talks about it much anymore, but I still hear that train whistle in my sleep. I can still hear them crying out for help. God forgive all of us who called ourselves Christians, yet did nothing to intervene.

“Their screams tormented us . . . If some of their screams reached our ears we’d just sing a little louder.”

Now, so many years later, I see it happening all over again in America. God forgive you as Americans for you have blocked out the screams of millions of your own children. The holocaust is here. The response is the same as it was in my country - SILENCE!"

Have you ever wondered HOW people could have stood by and let the holocaust just happen? Do you wonder why the Christians in this story chose to just sing their praise to God a little louder to drown out the victim’s cries?

The old man’s story is in the past. The past cannot be changed. It is easy to think we would act differently now. But the old man’s last words are haunting “It’s happening all over again in America with abortion. The Holocaust is here.”

As American Christians, we have become so comfortable in our lovely buildings and padded pews. We have beautiful fellowship halls for our many banquets. We have the latest sound equipment for our praise and worship. We have computers to keep our records. We gather together each week and shut ourselves inside our buildings. We raise our voices as loud as we can, all in the name of God.

And yet, in the heavenly realm, our voices raised in praise are drowned out by screams of agony from millions of babies who are being executed before they are born. We can’t see them. We can’t hear them. But it is happening right now!

Babies are being aborted UP UNTIL THE DAY OF BIRTH in this country. Their organs and brains are “harvested” for use in medical experimentation. In Wichita, Kansas, the smoke stack from the furnace of Dr. Tiller’s abortion clinic belches out black smoke and the sickening smell of burning flesh. These are the bodies of 7th, 8th and 9th month old babies being “disposed of”.

If the Christians in the old man’s church had done something, they would have probably been killed. That is not the case with us. We don’t even have that as an excuse for our silence.

Years from now will you be like that old man trying to explain your apathy as millions were led away to slaughter in abortion clinics? Or will you raise your voice and cry out in protest for those who have no voice! The choice is YOURS!

The above brochure compares Abortion to the Holocaust. This article compares Abortion to Slavery (the Beginning of the Civil Rights Movement). You can see what happens when a segment of life is deemed NOT AS VALUABLE as life in the rest of the population.

In the summer of 1955, Emmett convinced his mom to let him visit relatives in Mississippi.

Although Mrs. Till put Emmett on the train with a warning that things were different for blacks in the South, he had no idea just how different things were until he was beaten and murdered.

His crime? Whistling at and talking to a white girl.

On August 24, while hanging out with his cousins, Emmett was caught in a dare. He had told the other youngsters a white teenager in a picture he carried was his girlfriend back in Chicago. They dared him to go into a small grocery store in Money, Mississippi, owned by the Bryant family and say hello to the white woman working there. Emmett went in, bought some gum with a couple of pennies, and then said, “Bye, Baby” to Carolyn Bryant, the storeowner’s wife.(source: www.bluejeansplace.com/EmmettTillMurderSite.html))

This juvenile prank led to a nightmare come to life. Three days later, two of Bryant’s relatives pulled Emmett from his uncle’s home, stripped him naked, beat him beyond recognition, shot him in the head, and dumped his body into the Tallahatchie River.

I don’t know if I would have had the wherewithal to do what Emmett’s mother did upon receiving her boy in his casket back in Chicago, but her understanding of the situation and ensuing actions helped ignite a movement and change history: Mrs. Till insisted on an open casket and encouraged Jet magazine to publish pictures of her slain, disfigured son.

She said, “After the body arrived I knew I had to look and see and make sure it was Emmett. That was when I decided that I wanted the whole world to see what I had seen. There was no way I could describe what was in that box. No way. And I just wanted the world to see." (source: www.panopt.com/photogra/withers/fulewtill05.html)

Good posts and good challenges.
Hopefully you’ll get some good responses, and it won’t be so hard to get people to write e-mails and make phone calls.

I’d really like to see Catholics For a Free Choice shut down and a certain disabled gentleman named Scott saved from his wife who’s trying to get him into a hospice so she can dehydrate him to death.

And, Sooner or later, we must insist to the President and to the Senators that we want Supreme Court Justices who won’t support the type of reasoning that led to ROE V. WADE, which is the Dred Scott Decision of our era.

Meanwhile, we have to look at changing some laws so that disabled people can (with appropriate assistance) create binding Advance Directives and be considered to be competent to make medical Decisions for themselves. this way, relatives and others who consider them burdens can’t use the new Schiavo Precedent to have them dehydrated to death, or “humanely” euthanized.

But, all this won’t do us a single bit of good if we can’t stop the wanton slaughter of pre-born babies. We’ve already slaughtered 46 million since ROE V. WADE, and the thinking and philosophy will justify another 46 million more if we can’t stop the people from Planned Parenthood and NARAL.

Let us pray that God soften the hearts of those who do the Abortions so they can no longer bring themselves to do this evil deed. Let us pray for the woman, and let us pray for the babies and that God will have mercy on our country and on our world.

Blessed are they who act to save the lives of God’s Little Ones. Michael

I agree with you on your points. As far as stopping abortion, I have been active in the Pro-Life movement for about 20 years. I have really come to the conclusion the only way to end abortion is to change the world’s view on contraception. We must teach people why contraception is wrong/immoral.

We are currently trying to end abortion by cutting down the tree branches of the issue. We must go after the tree roots and teach why contraception is immoral and how it begins the slippery slope mentality to abortion. See Priests For Life website for more information.
