Singles - what do you think about this idea?

I posted this in Concierge Desk but don’t know if many had a chance to see it so I’m linking to it here.

It’s regarding whether singles would like to have a forum in Catholic Living separate from Family Life, simply to make threads about the single life easier to locate. There is a poll, too.

I strongly support this idea. I sent a PM to a moderator several months ago and she replied saying they would bring it up at a meeting. Hopefully they decide to do it!!

I think it’s a great idea!!! Sometimes I feel like singles are the red-headed stepchildren (no offense meant – my cousin is a red-headed stepchild:D) of the Catholic church. It would be great to have a forum for us to discuss things – not that married people wouldn’t jump in and a lot of times they have great (name removed by moderator)ut (sometimes not. I’ve been told – at a singles retreat (by a single mind you) that since I was still single at 40 I should consider the convent :eek:) So it’s not a given that you’ll always get good advice/(name removed by moderator)ut, but I think more often than not other singles will be able to relate and give wonderful insight.

I’m all in!!!
 
I think that would be great. It is a state in the Catholic journey that isn’t quite as emphasized as much as married life or holy life.

I would think it would include a lot of forum members, and a lot of discussions that are otherwise glossed over.

Ive always thought a “Dating and Courtship” sub section would be absolutely fantastic…

I don’t know about a separate forum, I doubt they would give that to you. But seriously ask for a “Single’s Sticky”. They are at the top of the forum page and never get put in the archives. I think they might buy that one. I think this is a great idea. vote for this! 👍 I hope you get it! 😃
