Christ has died for the sins of all men, thus all men are redeemed. However our protestant brethren confuse this redemption with salvation and so deny Christ having died for all men.

Christ’s death is sufficient to pay for the sins of the whole world and therefore anyone who repents will be forgiven.

Anyone who refuses to repent cannot be forgiven because how could God forgive sin for which the sinner refuses to repent.

All have sinned and fallen short of Law and so all need forgiveness, but only those who have been baptized and receive His gifts in the Sacraments and absolution can be sure of their forgiveness.

God Bless

Sins are opportunities of ABSOLUTELY DIVINE PROVIDENCE.

IF we can deny ourselves IN OUR MEAGER temporal existence here on earth, in refusing to give ourselves over to sin, by the example of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, we are told that we can achieve an unfathomable miracle (Miracle to the exponent of infinity) in that we are instructed TO BELIEVE THAT WE CAN PLEASE-GOD.

IF, in fact, we find that we cannot deny ourselves, in the short time we live as inhabitants of this earth, the ravages of sin, WE ARE NOT typically] IMMEDIATELY DESTROYED, in ourselves here on earth. WE ARE PROVIDED FOR, BY GOD, THE MEANS BY WHICH WE MAY LEAVE SUCH SINS HERE, WHEN WE GO TO SERVE OUR LORD IN HEAVEN.

Sins do need to be forgiven for the growth of the individual and the betterment of society. They can be forgiven in two ways: intentional and unintentional sins directly against G-d by means of prayer and atonement; sins against one’s fellow human beings by seeking forgiveness from them sincerely and striving to do better.

Hi,

It’s been awhile since we’ve talked:)

I’m firmilair with the Jewish position. It was valid B4 the Incarnation; but is no-longer so.

We are under a new Covenant in the Blood of Christ which supercedes the OT covenant.
And yes it’s biblical.

So then my friend; the new question seems to be who is correct? You or Jesus?

Continud Blessings and stay well,
Pat/PJm

I was, of course, expressing the Jewish perspective on sin; I should have prefaced my remarks by stating that. Whether the New Covenant actually supersedes or whether it instead fulfills the Old Covenant is probably a topic for another thread. Judaism would say neither.

No I did not say mere sorrow, but that those who do repent will seek out the Sacraments of the Church. Sorry if that was not clear. I was trying to say our certainty lay in the promises of Christ that are given in His Sacraments.

Those who claim they have forgiveness and therefore need no Sacraments have placed themselves into a strange position, at least Biblically.

God Bless

Consider YOUR “amen” received and I’m aware of that too:)

Continued Blessings,

is Hebrews ch8 :7-13 where you get the old covenant passing away?-- and a new covenant in place?

because it actually say’s that the “new covenant” is a covenant with the people of israel (which is the 10 northern tribes) and the people of Judah ( the 2 southern kingdoms)

i m wondering where you believe the covenant renewel is for the Gentiles–

and how that is established

thanks – for reveling the scripture to me
