Eternal rest grant unto Sister Wendy, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace.
May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

Dear Jesus, please welcome your good servant Sister Wendy, who brought joy to so many through her good presentations of art, into your eternal most wonderful galleries of Heaven. In your name I pray. Amen.

I was just thinking of her a few months ago when we were discussing some religious statuary on here. I would love to see some of her old shows again, as I’d appreciate them more now that I’ve seen some of the art in person, which in the 90s I hadn’t.
I always think it’s prophetic when a religious person dies on or around a major religious feast day, it’s like the Lord came to take them home for a holiday gift.

I only saw her show a few times -
but they left a wonderful impression on me -
I even thought about buying her dvds - etc
A nice heads up !

I saw many of her programs and they were wonderful. She brought art and religion together in a way we could all understand.

God bless her soul.

Just read this in the paper, very sad

Wasn’t she wonderful 🙂 I used to happen upon her show sometimes and she explained everything so well, always with an awe in her voice ,very knowledgable and held a childlike love of faith sharing that through explaining religious art .
May she rest in peace :pray:t2:

I loved her so much. She was one of a kind. This is heartbreaking news. I grew up watching her shows. She was one of my favorite ‘celebrities’.

There is a wonderful program about her life, where she discussed her early life, and mused on art works depicting various events of the New Testament It was called Sister Wendy and the Art of the Gospel. Highly recommended if you can find it anywhere online.

RIP dear Sister.

sigh
