Thanks for sharing this!

I’m discerning myself, sometimes it can be confusing but sometimes I confidently feel like I know my calling.

You are most welcome. My organizations’s Plain Catholic cooperator posted the link on our Religious Habit Yahoo group.

They’re also known as “CathAmish”. They are Catholic homesteaders who follow the writings of Fr Vincent McNabb, OP; wear quaint clothing; and adapt idiomatic language. When I posted a pic of a Trinitarian of Mary, she posted in response, “Aye, 'tis a stunner.”

If she doesn’t know the answer, she says, “I don’t have a scooby…”

She’s not ignorant by any stretch. She’s a Benedictine Oblate who also follows the writings of St Teresa of Avila. I believe she’s also a retired teacher.

Here’s a Plain Catholic blog: https://plaincatholic.blogspot.com

I don’t say you are responsible, and I don’t really want to dwell on it. But it just seems silly. “Amish” is not a “lifestyle”–it’s a serious faith tradition that should not simply be appropriated. It also is fundamentally inaccurate. It makes about as much sense as saying that someone is a Hindu Catholic: both impossible and somewhat absurd. Enough. No need to appropriate this thread.
