Skipping school?

In the morning it was 15 degrees Fahrenheit and I thought maybe school might be cancelled but it wasn’t and my parents said if I wanted I could stay home.I did but I feel really guilty about not going because I feel like I abandoned my duty.Should I go to confession?I am a 16 yr old male if that helps.
 
Your parents gave you permission so I would not consider that ‘skipping.’ I’ll make a bet that there were others that stayed home. Have your parents write a note stating that you had permission to stay at home that day. Peace.
 
Why would you seek answers from strangers on the internet and not trust your own parents?
