Slavery in the Gospels?

I was reading some of the Gospels, and I noticed that it talks about someone’s slave and what not. And I think it talked about how Jesus healed a slave. This is troublesome to me because slavery is wrong, yet the Gospels do not, at least from what I have understood, say anything against this. Does slave have a different meaning here? I read something that said servent is another word, but I don’t know if they were talking about the same thing I am. Thanks for any answers!
 
To the best of my knowledge, God does denounce slavery and also any activity that denies the dignity of man. In the case of the early church though, the more important issue was the freedom of the world from the slavery of sin. Once God has gotten into the hearts of man can he really start to work on the injustices of the world. Notice that Jesus did not heal everyone or raise all the dead during his time on earth. The ones that he did heal or raise he did so as to point to who he was and where he came from. His mission is to save souls. The souls he saves he then calls to Love others as themselves. Would anyone really want to be a slave? I don’t think so either. I hope that helps. It is a difficult issue though.
 
What is indentured servitude? I think I just got thrown back by the word slave
