Why I am Writing This
I have noticed that I tend to only watch/listen/consume popular Catholic media (Bishop Barron, Fradd, Schmitz, etc…). However, I am also coming to understand that there are many smaller content creators that offer great content without the usual drama that plagues more popular Catholics.
I am writing this post to break my habit of focusing on the number of followers a person has rather than what they are saying. Hopefully, this will help draw attention to a great creator with a smaller following!
AustinMary is a youtube channel that has a little over 100 subscribers. He, Austin, is an energetic 24-25-year-old who makes a wide variety of short videos that touch on many topics relating to the Catholic faith such as Marian Devotion, picking Catholic baby names (yes he is married), and being a Catholic in the medical field.
Most importantly, he clearly loves the Lord and His Holy Mother. He has named The Immaculata and St. Maximilian Kolbe as the patrons of his channel. (As a plus, he has a large miraculous medal tattooed on one of his arms!).
You can tell he carefully plans out his videos by citing saints from all around the Catholic faith from St. Theresa of Calcutta to St. Thomas Aquinas and St. John of the Cross. You learn a lot while laughing a lot!
Some of his more popular videos are on Traditional Catholics vs. Charismatic Catholics and Praying the Rosary.
I think you should check him out. His sincerity, energy, and genuine love for our Lord is refreshing in our trying times. :vatican_city:
