Smoking in front of children?

Correct…but remember that the second-hand smoke usually goes through several feet of air first. A person does not sit at the edge of the burning ember and inhale. A smoker inhales 100% directly into their lungs.

Plus remember, a smoker is ALSO exposed to second-hand smoke! Funny I sometimes hear a lot it is worse to be around a smoker than to be a smoker, how could this be? The smoker is sitting in the same foul air as the non-smoker, plus they are inhaling on their own too.

Yeah, that one makes no sense to me, either - unless we are talking about a non-smoker who is working eight hours a day in a smoke-filled environment, versus a smoker who is only exposing himself to smoke maybe one hour a day or so.

I am opposed to smoking in public places, for the sake of the workers who don’t have a choice other than to be there, or else lose their jobs. In private, people have to use their common sense, and not smoke in places where there are children. In our apartment buildings that have children in them, we forbid smoking indoors. They can smoke on the balconies and out in the yard, but not inside.
