Are all snakes considered cousins of the devil?
This is a great question. Here is a page with some pictures of unusual iris/pupil shapes. It is interesting to note that snakes, goats, and cats all have a vertical slit, rather than a round, pupil, and all are associated with the devil. Is there something evil looking about their eye?
Cats and many reptiles close their pupil to form vertical slits, sheep and most frogs have horizontal slits, and geckos have indented slits which effectively create a row of small pupils in each eye. More unusual pupils such as triangular, square and horse-shoe shaped ones are found in various amphibians, lower primates, fish and cephalopods. There are probably many different reasons for not having circular pupils, such as camouflage and obtaining a large dynamic range of pupil closure.
No. Snakes are just creatures, like dolphins, monkeys and birds. It was merely used as a biblical symbol for the evil one. Other cultures, like the Chinese, consider snakes as a symbol of wisdom. Are all snakes considered cousins of the devil?
Hey, don’t associate a slit in the eye of a cat to anything of the devil. It is interesting to note that snakes, goats, and cats all have a vertical slit, rather than a round, pupil, and all are associated with the devil. Is there something evil looking about their eye?
Feed a cat some Cat-Nip and you’ll see those pupils go from slit to saucer in no time at all.:bigyikes:It is interesting to note that snakes, goats, and cats all have a vertical slit, rather than a round, pupil, and all are associated with the devil. Is there something evil looking about their eye?
