Hello everyone!
I’m so excited. . .I found a parish in the city I’m attending college that will let me complete the RCIA process even though the program is halfway over with for the year. This is so encouraging to me after being told to “Wait 'til next year”. My initial reaction was YOU wait a year to partake of the Eucharist, thanks. Anyway, just wanted to share my joy with everyone.

Did I mention I’m excited yet?

😃

Welcome home, since your coming from a protestant background, can i recommend, Rome Sweet Home by Scott Hahn, it’s a lovely conversion story.

I’m in the RCIA as well, getting confirmed at easter 🙂

Congratulations–to you both! That’s so wonderful! :extrahappy:
God bless you.

I’m excited too. I just emailed the RCIA director at the parish i wan tot start RCIA and now I’m waiting for her to email me back. I come from a protestant background too. How long have you been thinking about converting? I have been for 4 years.

It was about, 20 minutes, God basically dragged me home, i let him have an opportunity to act, and he did, and suddenly i knew what i was missing, his divine love, so i went from Hardcore Atheist, to Catholic.

I’m currently reading Rome Sweet Home, although Scott Hahn is going from protestant to Catholic, i find it a good read, you really should buy a copy, its a lovely story.

Also got myself, Jerusalem Bible (getting myself a Douay-Rheims when money permits), Didache and a Latin For beginners, because i eventually want to read the Douay-Rheims Clementine Version, which is the version that has the Vulgate side by side with the Douay-Rheims.

Wow. I’ve asked in my Diocese, and was told it is a requirement to wait at least a year (or 2) according to VII. I’ve been jipped! I don’t understand…

I get this picture in my head of Jesus walking up to John the Baptist and being told to, “Wait a year…” 🤷

It just came to mind Mary’s reaction at Cana when told by Jesus that his hour had not yet come. She ignored this and simply told the people to, “Do whatever he tells you.” So maybe you could ask Mary to pray for you and follow in her footsteps.

Congratulations to those whom are converting!

Only 20 minutes? Any way to convince you to share some of your story?

God bless

Hey not a bad idea! I just found the most beautiful chapel run by the Sisters of the Perpetual Adoration, that I pray at every day before/after work. It was there that I first started feeling Mary’s presence, and am beginning to understand her role in my life…anyhow, I’ll ask her tomorrow! Thank you!
