So I feel like my mom loves the dog more than me

So my mom will get very upset or angry with me, but then she’ll turn right around and go love on the dog and tell him he’s her best friend and she loves him sooo much. And when she insults me or people I care about she says she doesn’t care if I’m offended, but then later she’ll say she didn’t mean to hurt my feelings…

No way to fix this than to have a frank talk with her. And the listen to what she says.

Your mom is probably stressed out from dealing with whatever the conflict is between you and her, and other conflicts in her life, and she needs the unconditional love she gets from a dog who is likely not doing anything to push the boundaries of their relationship.

Love for a pet is different from love for a person. Don’t take it personally.

Do talk to your mom about these conflicts you are having.

How old are you? What you’re describing sounds like normal stuff that moms and their kids go through.
