“We are not among those who draw back and perish,
but among those who have faith and will possess life.”

Can we be sure of this? What are they drawing back from
if not their faith? What will come and test our faith to see if this
is true? Will it be unexpected, or will we be prepared for it?

The gospel says that night and day, the word of God grows
into the kingdom of heaven once it is planted in soil, and the
soil is us. We don’t know how it grows, but the smallest word
grows into the biggest help for others. We have many, many
words of God all for free in the Bible. When we read it, what
part gets “planted” in us? I once met someone who read all
4 gospels in one day, but “didn’t get anything out of it”.
To me, that seems impossible. Maybe sometimes we can just read too much at once and nothing gets “planted”. It’s nice
the church helps by giving us daily readings. Sometimes
even that is too much for me.

So what struck you about today’s readings?:bible1:
