“Meh” is an interjection used to express indifference toward a subject. It serves as a verbal shrug of the shoulders.

Had He used the question that way, He probably was intending to teach the woman a lesson in faith and in turn, a lesson for the whole crowed present. It required an even greater affirmation of faith on her part to respond honestly to the question (when she simply could have run away) and serves for us as an example of how we are rewarded for our fear of the Lord.

About meh: thanks for that, I learned a new word. I have no
such indifference to the age 16. I think it is one
of the all-time best ages. I felt so important about
myself when I got my driver’s license! I still feel
important about that. I would say to both you and
Nat2, Congratulations on being 16! It only comes
once, and some people don’t even live that long.

And now about the question: I really like your answer.
Usually Jesus kept saying, “don’t tell anyone about this
miracle”. But now, just for her, He publicly exposes the miracle.
