Here’s what the first reading sound like in my translation:
Lying in bed I wonder, “When will it be day?”
Risen I think, “How slowly evening comes!”
My life is but a breath, and my eyes will never again see joy.
Oh how familiar I am with these feelings! Despite faith, I have
felt it, but my eyes did see joy again. You who are feeling this
way, your eyes will see joy!
